Mapeguard UM is a lightweight, waterproofing and vapor pressure-equalizing underlayment membrane from Mapei. It provides crack suppression for use under ceramic tile and stone installations, for both residential and commercial applications. Mapeguard UM is designed to perform over challenging substrates, such as young concrete and single-layer plywood subfloors. The uniquely engineered tri-layered design of Mapeguard UM absorbs lateral stress from the substrate without transferring this force to the tile or stone, which maintains exceptional bonds.
Controlling impact sound through floor-ceiling assemblies in multi-story construction can present challenges, particularly with hard surface tiles. Sound control materials tend to be compressible and not all provide adequate support for the tile covering. Ditra-Heat-Duo uncoupling membrane from Schluter Systems reduces sound transmission, in addition to warming the floor and still supporting the covering for a lasting installation. ASTM E2179 testing shows Ditra-Heat-Duo produced an increase in impact insulation class (ΔIIC) of 20 to a concrete slab floor-ceiling assembly.
TEC® Level Set® 300 is a high-performance, calcium aluminate-based, fiber-reinforced self-leveling underlayment that provides a flat, extremely smooth and durable surface for finished flooring installations. Ideal for fast-track applications, Level Set® 300 is formulated for walkability in two to three hours and accepts non-moisture sensitive tile and stone in four hours. This self-leveling underlayment is pourable and pumpable for interior applications.
