Laticrete International, Inc. has improved its Laticrete 1776 Grout Admix Plus by adding Microban anti-microbial protection. This new system is designed to inhibit the growth of stain-causing mold, mildew and bacteria on grout surface. Independent studies have indicated that Microban anti-microbial product protection prevents the growth of bacteria up to 99%.
Laticrete 1776 Grout Admix Plus with Microban replaces mix water for grout and can be used with any type of cementitious grout including sanded, unsanded, polymer modified and standard grouts.
"This product is ideal for bathrooms, spas, showers and kitchens," the company reports. "We decided to incorporate Microban anti-microbial product protection into Laticrete 1776 Grout Admix Plus because its active ingredients have been used in hospitals to inhibit bacteria, mold and mildew growth for over 25 years. In addition to the microbial protection, Laticrete 1776 Grout Admix Plus with Microban improves the physical properties of the grout resulting in color uniformity and durability."
