The third edition of the International Tile and Stone Show (ITSS) will take place from July 15 to 17, 2004 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York, NY. The show, which held a successful edition in Las Vegas, NV, in November of 2003, will feature exhibits of natural stone, tile, machinery and related products such as sealers and installation materials.

According to management of ITSS, many major companies in the tile, stone and machinery industries have asked for a marketing opportunity in the region. For the first time ever, the industry can exhibit in New York City, and organizers report that this event will represent the “lowest cost trade show” in this category while offering exhibitors and attendees the attractions of a premier world location. They added that the New York metropolitan area has one of the strongest concentrations of stone-related professionals in the world, which makes it attractive from a business standpoint. Additionally, the city is served by three major airports and superior amenities.

ITSS attendance has been a

broad cross section of the industry, including stone fabricators (21.56%), contractors/builders (11.83%), installers (10.26%), buyers (9.53%), wholesalers (8.90%), distributors (8.63%), importers (8.62%), retailers (8.36%), architects/designers (6.97%) and other trades (5.30%). All attendees are admitted to the exposition free of charge.

For the newest edition of the show, ITSS announced a national marketing alliance with the American Society of Interior Designer (ASID). The ASID represents an important group of professionals that are responsible for the specification, selection and use of stone and tile across the entire U.S. market-place. ITSS is looking to capitalize on the concentration of ASID members in New York and beyond, and it points out that ASID membership is over 27,000 and growing.
