International Granite & Marble Corp. (IGM), a leading importer/distributor of natural stone, is celebrating its 60th anniversary in October of this year. John Weiss, President of IGM, stated IGM started in 1948 with one desk, a G.I. loan and his father’s reputation as a reliable stone distributor from Europe prior to World War II. In 1958, IGM moved to North Bergen, NJ, where the company’s headquarters remain to this date.

“In 1948, we wanted to start again in the stone business and had to do so with a G.I. loan and capitalize on my father’s name in the stone industry,” said John Weiss. “We’re still here and going strong 60 years later.” IGM currently has 11 warehouses in the U.S., serving the stone industry from Maine to Texas.
