DEERFIELD BEACH, FL -- Two outstanding characteristics of Mapei's new Ultrabond spray adhesives for carpet tile and resilient flooring have eased the work of floor-covering installers. The aerosolized, water-based acrylic adhesives are spray-applied, which allows installers to do their work standing up instead of kneeling and to complete the job faster than when using trowel-applied adhesives. The higher performance levels of the Ultrabond spray adhesives in relation to moisture resistance -- 10 lbs. (4,54 kg) at 90% RH -- allow installations to be completed sooner than with traditional adhesives.

"We believe Ultrabond Spray 360 and Ultrabond Spray 810 will provide fast-track installation solutions for professional flooring contractors who must overcome moisture issues and short deadlines on the jobsite," said Jeff Johnson, Business Manager for Floor Covering Installation Systems at Mapei.

Ultrabond Spray 360 is designed for the installation of solid vinyl tile, luxury vinyl tile, vinyl composition tile (VCT) and vinyl plank; all of these types of flooring can be set as soon as 15 minutes after adhesive application. Ultrabond Spray 810 can be used for the installation of vinyl-backed carpet tile, providing excellent tack for secure flooring placement, generally within 15 to 30 minutes. Both products' unique application method provides excellent bond performance while using considerably less material in much less time, while the high moisture resistance promotes bond durability.

Ultrabond Spray 360 and Ultrabond Spray 810 were launched at The International Surface Event (TISE) West, which took place in Las Vegas, NV, in late January. These products will be available to professional flooring contractors during the first quarter of 2016.
