Kohler’s new Undertone Preserve kitchen sinks, an ingenious series of stainless steel kitchen sinks engineered to create a scratch barrier, protecting stainless steel and maintaining its pristine look, offer great value to both customers and specifiers. Preserve is a factory-applied surface treatment that has the added benefit of scratch resistance while still wiping clean just as easily as any stainless steel sink.
It keeps Kohler stainless steel sinks looking newer longer. Preserve is available in two sizes and styles of Kohler’s popular Undertone sink family, including an extra-large/medium double bowl and a double equal bowl. These sinks are constructed of highly durable 18-gauge stainless steel, and feature the Kohler SilentShield sound-absorption system to sharply reduce unwanted noise from running water and disposals. The sink features a bottom bowl rack to provide a flat work surface in the sink basin. Sterling has introduced the Carthage sink. The design impression on the bottom of the Carthage sinks depicts a large “X,” similar to a pattern often seen on more upscale fabricated sinks. This impression pattern adds a unique design style to the existing sink offering and provides consumers with a fabricated look at a lower price point than current industry pricing.
In addition to the aesthetically pleasing design, the Carthage stainless steel sinks feature rounded basin corners to ease the task of cleaning the sink and eliminating a chance for debris to build up in corners. The classic, understated characteristics of under-counter sinks enhance the look of countertop materials such as quartz or granite, and allow for easy cleanup of the countertop. The under-counter stainless steel sinks will also blend nicely with other stainless steel appliances.
TheSterling Cinch kitchen sink boasts a benefit for both installers and homeowners alike. Blanco has launched the Diamond 1-¾ bowl low-divide with a reverse option that allows for the prep area to be on the left or right side. Part of the popular Silgranit II collection, the new Diamond 1-¾ sink with low-divide offers the ability to prep and clean more easily without bumping a divide that is too high.
The Diamond comes in eight color options, including white, biscuit, biscotti, café brown, truffle, metallic gray, cinder and anthracite. Custom accessories, including stainless steel grids and steel colander, are optional and sold separately.

One comes in three base model sizes: XL single, super single and medium bowls. Able to take on the challenges of daily life, these easy-to-clean 9-inch-deep bowls are created from high-quality stainless steel with Blanco’s signature satin polished finish.
The accessories include a magnetic sink caddy to hold cleaning tools inside the sink, a workstation that holds knives and utensils, an ash compound cutting board that fits to the sink to save space and protective custom grids. Exclusively for the XL single bowl, the multi-level grid serves as an additional rack above the base grid and may also be used on the counter as a stand-alone unit. These well-designed accessories may be bought separately or within five convenient kit packages.
Also from Blanco comes the spacious Valea single-bowl sink in their Silgranit II series. This durable and highly functional sink is available in four natural colors with a transitional style which fits any kitchen décor.
The Valea comes in four earthy tones, including biscotti, café brown, cinder and anthracite.
Custom accessories sold separately include a cutting board, which slides on the countertop, and a protective stainless steel grid.

Chemcore Industries is now stocking its newest addition to the popular Homeplace farmhouse-style sink line, a laundry sink called the Milam. This handmade-style sink features rounded corners and can be both under mounted or top mounted (dropped in). It is 12 inches deep, with outside measurements of 23 ½ x 18 ½ inches. There are very few choices available for laundry sinks, and many are very expensive, but the Milam is priced very moderately, according to the manufacturer.
Chemcore Industries is also reintroducing its unique Oasis stainless steel sink line.
The line is comprised of three models: a 50/50 equal bowl, a large single bowl, and an offset double bowl featuring a large bowl on one side and a small bowl (for disposal use).
Since all Oasis models have the same exterior dimensions, they use the same cutout template, which makes this line an excellent choice for projects, where all countertops can be pre-cut, but still be able to offer a choice of sink design.
Also, Oasis sinks can be both under mounted or top mounted (dropped in). Although these sinks are budget priced, they are made from 304-grade stainless steel and have extra sound-deadening features.
Chemcore Industries will soon debut a new sink model in its popular Urbanplace line, the Urban-Apron. This unique sink is different from most other Apron Farmhouse sinks because it will fit into most standard cabinets without any cutting of the cabinet, and due to a shorter apron the sink will not interfere with most cabinet doors.
The sink simply drops in place, with the cabinet panel between the apron and the sink bowl. Then, the countertop mounts above the sink. This design virtually eliminates the need for custom cabinets when using an apron style sink.
The Urban-Apron will be available in several sizes and in both 50/50 equal bowl and large single-bowl designs.
Over the past 10 plus years, thestone fabricationindustry has gravitated towards the kitchen countertop sector. Because of this, many stone fabricators are regularly offering sinks to their clients. This progression has allowed stone fabricators to become more familiar with different sink shapes and styles. But, like all products, the choices for sinks are growing rapidly and manufacturers are looking to increase practicality, durability and aesthetics.
