ALMERÍA, SPAIN-- Cosentino Group introduced Dekton® by Cosentino, the new ultra-compact architectural surface for interior and exterior applications, to leading companies in the machine tool sector for the treatment and processing of surfaces. A total of 27 companies from several countries, including Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany, the U.S. and South Korea, visited Cosentino headquarters in Almería, Spain, for a technical seminar specifically focused on Dekton.

The seminar gave tool manufacturers an in-depth overview of Dekton and allowed them to witness the manufacturing process first-hand, specifically the exclusive Particle Sintering Technology (PST).

Attendees also learned about Dekton's features and properties, including low water absorption, color stability, dimensional stability and high resistance to compression, flexural strength, impact, abrasion, staining, frost and thaw, scratching, ultraviolet rays, heat and fire. They also viewed the large-format slabs and the different shades and textures of the innovative product. Dekton® is the largest commercial and technological challenge carried out to date by Cosentino.

This new material is the result of more than five years of intensive work, a financial investment of $172 million and 22,000 hours of research by the Cosentino Group R&D department.
