The hands-on fossil presentation was exhibited by the La Brea Tar Pits Page Museum, one of the world's most famous fossil sites, for a class of second graders from Colfax Elementary School.
Mark Capehart, Page Museum lecturer, brought several fossils, including the femur of a Columbian mammoth and the skull of a saber tooth cat, as well as authentic architectural tools that he incorporated into an exciting and rare interactive presentation for the kids. Additionally, he shared remarkable insight about the earth's geological history and the environment's evolution through time.
At the conclusion of the presentation, Joaquin Macias from Wendy Greuel's 2nd District City Council office presented Stone Mart founder, Albert Ganjian, with an accolade for his support and dedication in bringing the earth's geological history to the community.
Stone Mart is one of the largest purveyors of ancient natural stones, excavated from nearly every country around the globe, from the lush and exotic Brazilian Amazon to the barren deserts on the African continent, according to the company.
