Park Industries recently introduced the new Vortex CNC Countertop Workcenter, which can rout, core, edge and polish countertop sinkholes with incredible speed and precision.

The Vortex's built-in laser template digitizing system can quickly program your sink shapes with push-button ease or you can import electronic drawings with one simple command, according to Park Industries. Powered by a Microsoft[r] Windows PC-based touch-screen system, the Vortex is extremely simple to run and operate. The 2-axis control of the gantry and cross travel motion provides the Vortex the flexibility to create custom shapes and can save literally thousands of custom-digitized patterns in memory for repeat precision cuts.

The computer-controlled 7.5 hp spindle runs 1,000 - 9,000 rpm's and can route, core and edge 2 cm (3⁄4 inch) to 4 cm (1 1⁄2 inches) stone. The 4- x 3-foot work surface can manage stone pieces 2 feet, 8 inches to 12 feet in length and 1 foot, 8 inches to 3 feet in width. The finished piece will match the digitized part by +/-0.010, which is better than 1⁄64 inch, reports Park Industries.
