Mega-Jaw Carry Clamp

The Mega-Jaw Carry Clamp by Omni Cubed has been designed for easier and safer carrying of countertops, the manufacturer reports. The lightweight clamp (only 2.6 pounds) opens wide enough (up to 2.6 inches or 66 mm) to accommodate thicker tops, including concrete countertops. The clamp features high-strength aluminum arms and non-marking, tear-resistant rubber gripping pads. To distribute the weight of very heavy countertops, two installers per clamp can be used on each side of the top (four people total). Each pair of clamps has a rated capacity of 500 pounds, and the more weight lifted, the tighter the clamps grip. All Omni Cubed products are engineered, manufactured and assembled in the U.S., and are covered by a one-year manufacturer’s limited warranty.

Static Mixing Tips and Cartridges

Integra Adhesives Inc. has introduced its newly designed Static Mixing Tips and Cartridges - exclusive to Integra Adhesives Inc. and made in North America. These new components will provide improved adhesive performance today and ensure cost stability and supply for the future, according to the manufacturer.

Until now, over 95% of the components used in Meter Mix Dispense Systems for the surfacing industry were produced by offshore suppliers, according to Integra Adhesives.

Integra reports that its new 250 ml Adhesive Cartridges and Bayonet Mixer Tips “with wings” are the first of their kind to be made in North America, and are sold exclusively by Integra Adhesives and their distribution network partners. The 250 ml cartridge body is molded from impact resistant Nylon 6 to eliminate freight damage or breakage in shop use, and has the added feature of being recyclable in most jurisdictions. Glass fiber reinforced polymers strengthen the cartridge to reduce sidewall flex and improve cure performance. In addition, the coaxial outlet places the Activator in the center of the adhesive stream to pre-blend components prior to static mixing.

“These strategic moves will ensure our customers have continued access to quality components at competitive prices,” said Chad Thomas, Integra’s Inside Sales Manager. “As the manufacturer of these components, we now have the ability to work directly on product development and have recently demonstrated this new response capacity with the addition of “wings” on the new tips to allow easier attachment and removal.”

The Static Mixing Tip is specifically designed to work with the viscosities of Integra’s complete range of high-performance seaming, laminating and accessorial adhesives. The “Quick Lock” attachment method provides a secure seal and eliminates the need for a screw cap. The spiral-mixing element reduces backpressure, resulting in even cures and easy flow, Integra reports.

A number of stoneworking shops in Europe have already invested in the Primus 184 waterjet, including Marmi Fontanelli of Vezzano sul Crostolo (Reggio Emilia), Italy.
