DEERFIELD BEACH, FL -- Mapei Corp., a leading manufacturer of flooring installation systems, in partnership with Imola Tile, co-sponsored a series of lectures for students at the University of Miami School of Architecture this spring, as well as for architects and others in the community. The lecture series was part of the students' preparation for spending a semester studying abroad in Italy.

Nick Di Tempora, president of Mapei Americas, and Maurizio Paglialango, CEO of Imola Tile, attended the final lecture, given by the Italian Consul General, Gianfranco Colognato. “We are very pleased to be a part of this important program at the University of Miami,” stated Di Tempora. “Education broadens our attitudes as well as our knowledge, and Colognato has given us many insights this evening through his knowledge of Italy and its people.”

As the students begin their studies in Rome this summer, they may also have the opportunity to see a construction materials manufacturing plant in operation. Mapei has extended an open invitation for the students to visit the company's world headquarters, if their travels take them to northern Italy. The Mapei facility in Milan boasts an extensive Research and Development laboratory, where scientists work to create technologically advanced building materials. “We think we can give students a unique perspective on products they will one day be specifying for the construction of their architectural designs,” said Di Tempora.
