Custom® Building Products, an industry leader in high-quality tile and stone installation systems, has announced that cleaners in its respected line of Aqua® Mix non-toxic, water-based tile care products are being upgraded to increase effectiveness while reducing environmental impact. Created specifically for stone, tile and grout, Aqua Mix’s selection of biodegradable cleaners will deliver the power and professional results of traditional cleaners without solvents or phosphates. Aqua Mix biodegradable cleaner formulas are designed to break down quickly and naturally in the environment.

Aqua Mix’s line of water-based penetrating and topical sealers protect stone, tile and grout with no or low VOCs (volatile organic compounds), and exceed the strict state and federal requirements for VOC emission limits. VOCs are compounds that may vaporize and enter the atmosphere, potentially affecting air quality.

“As the first professional quality, water-based tile care products in the industry, Aqua Mix has a long and well-deserved reputation for clean and environmentally sound formulas,” said Monica Catalani, Product Manager for Custom Building Products. “This upgrade to biodegradable formulas for our cleaners is the next step in Custom’s ongoing effort to provide the highest quality products that protect the environment, the user and the public.”

Aqua Mix cleaners will feature new biodegradable formulas including:

• Aqua Mix Concentrated Stone & Tile Cleaner, for everyday use to prevent build-up and mineral deposits

• Aqua Mix Stone Deep Clean, for heavy-duty cleaning of stone surfaces that have been neglected or subjected to heavy use

• Aqua Mix Grout Deep Clean, for removing grease, stains and deposits from grout joints, restoring the color and appearance of dirty or stained grout and preparing joints for sealing with Aqua Mix Grout Sealer

Aqua Mix offers both penetrating and topical sealers for professional-quality care and protection of stone, tile and grout. Select Aqua Mix sealers emit no or low VOCs, with environmentally smart, water-based formulas. Aqua Mix sealers include:

• Aqua Mix Penetrating Sealer, with a no-VOC formula for a natural, no-sheen finish that resists stains

• Aqua Mix Sealers Choice™ Gold, a penetrating sealer with a low-VOC formula for maximum stain protection and a natural finish

• Aqua Mix Grout Sealer, a penetrating sealer with a low-VOC formula that resists water, oil- and acid-based contaminants with a natural finish

• Aqua Mix Seal & Finish Low Sheen, a topical sealer with a water-based blend of polymers for a durable, low-sheen finish that eliminates conventional two-step methods
