Custom Building Products has released a new fiber cement backerboard called RhinoBoard. Backed by a lifetime warranty, RhinoBoard is strong and reliable. This 1/4-inch nominal thickness fiber cement board provides an ideal substrate for interior floor and counter installations, the company reports. RhinoBoard is composed of a hard matrix that delivers durability, yet weighs less than 1.6 pounds per square foot. It is easy to handle, and it scores and snaps cleanly with minimal residue. Its economical 4- x 4-foot size eliminates waste when installing countertops -- simply cutting the board in half yields two pieces that each fit standard countertop dimensions, according to Custom Building Products.
