Universal Granite & Marble (UGM) a leading stone distributor headquartered in Naperville, IL, with branches around the country, has announced the opening of two new locations. A state-of-the-art stone gallery in Oswego, (West Chicago) IL, opened last month, and another branch will be opening in Omaha, NE, in mid- July. The two openings are part of the company’s expansion that was recently approved by UGM’s board, in which the firm will open 11 new facilities in the U.S. “This is a major commitment by our shareholders,” said Anik Narula, CEO of UGM, who added that a substantial investment has been committed to the endeavor. Ultimately, the company aim is to have 25 UGM locations in the U.S. by the end of 2009. The company’s growth has been fuelled by increased operational efficiency, better material procurement, an unparalleled cooperation by its vendors and support by its loyal customers. Additionally, UGM has strengthened its professional team by adding Gregory Star as the new CFO and Scott Zero as its Regional Vice President to oversee this expansion plan for the Midwest Region.
