Nuheat Industries, Ltd., has developed a new floor-warming system. The Nuheat mat is installed in a layer of thin-set directly beneath the floor covering. It may be installed under all hard surfaces, including all varieties of natural stone. Installation is as simple as laying down an electric blanket, according to the company. The system generates 12 watts per square foot and heats up to 85-88 degrees Fahrenheit. A control for each room, and each mat, which is hard wired into a junction box that is GFCI (Grout Fault Circuit Interrupter) protected, are available through Nuheat. The system comes with a 25-year warranty.
