A modified version of Thibaut's T108, called the T108 Evolution, was introduced at Stone+Tec 2001 in Nuremberg, Germany. The improved performance of this machine can be linked to such features as a rapid pneumatic tool change without spanner and new automation, the company reports. The interface has a new touch sensitive graphical display unit for easiness and user-friendliness. According to Thibaut, the routing function is now integrated into the base machine due to a unique main motor, which goes from 250 to 10,000 rpm. The vertical run has been increased from 250 mm to 300 mm, enabling work with differing thicknesses or with varying tool lengths. Additionally, the tilting base table has been lengthened. It passes from 2,300 mm to 2,960 mm with two retractable stops allowing a return to level 0. The machine's two feet are encased in galvanized tubing, giving them greater resistance to corrosion.
