Park Industries appoints new positions

Pat Mullins

As a result of Tom’s new position, Pat Mullins, current General Manager of Park Industries Architectural Division, will step into the president role. Mullins joined Park Industries in 2002. Prior to joining Park, Mullins was president and CEO of Superior Diesel and spent over 10 years with HUSCO International as their VP-General Manager. In addition, Mullins worked at PriceWaterhouseCoopers as a middle market business consultant and auditor. “Mullins has a very impressive background and will be a great leader at Park Industries,” said Schlough.

ST. CLOUD, MN - Park Industries has recently announced new appointments within the company. Effective January 1, 2007, Tom Schlough, current president of Park Industries, will be the new Chief Executive Officer. “I’m excited to step into a different role at Park,” stated Schlough. “I won’t be as involved in the day-to-day operations, but will still be very involved in the business as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board.”

Dean Casad

In addition, Dean Casad, current Product Line Manager of Park Industries, will be stepping into the Architectural Division General Manager role. Casad joined Park Industries in 2004 as Director of New Business Development, bringing over 12 years of in marketing management and business development experience. Dean has worked with a wide range of industry-leading companies, including General Mills, NordicTrack, Toro and General Electric. Dean is a graduate of Iowa State University, with degrees in Agricultural Economics and Financial Management and holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

“The team we have in place is exceptional,” said Schlough. “I am very confident that both Pat and Dean will be able to deliver the quality products and exceptional service that our customers have come to expect.”

Surfaces 2013 preview

Surfaces 2013 -- to be held in conjunction with StonExpo/Marmomacc Americas -- is slated for January 29 to 31 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV. The show, which also includes an extensive educational program that will be held from January 28 to 31, provides a place for thousands of floor covering retailers, distributors, installers, architects, designers and builders from around the world to gather and view the latest products, get vital education, network with other floor covering professionals and conduct business.

More than 600 of the largest manufacturers and suppliers representing products in every major category, including carpet, tile, hardwood, rugs, laminate, resilient and stone, are expected to exhibit at the trade show. Hanley Wood, owner and operator of the exhibition, reports that they have many new exhibiting companies and returning ones who have expanded their booth size. Additionally, Surfaces 2013 will host more than 40 workshops, seminars and mini sessions led by industry experts in the fields of business, sales, marketing, installation and design. Attendees can earn AIA, NKBA, AIBD, IICRC and AIA/CES industry designation. Here is just a small sampling of some of the displays that will be present at Surfaces 2013.
