Opens new showroom

February 9, 2001
The new Westchester Marble & Granite showroom features 4,000 square feet of more than 40 installed stone, tile and mosaic vignettes.

A design goal for the showroom was to offer a clean, modern feel in space and design.
ATLANTA, GA -- Walker Zanger, a supplier of handcrafted stone and lapidary, has opened a stone and tile showroom and regional office in Atlanta, GA.

The new showroom alone features 4,000 square feet of more than 40 installed stone, tile and mosaic vignettes, which include working kitchens and baths, and an additional 1,500 square feet dedicated to the show office and conference area. The new location also maintains a 10,000-square-foot outdoor stone slab display and storage area, consisting of more than 150 different types of granite, marble, limestone and onyx. Additionally, there is a 5,000-square-foot indoor warehouse, which displays more than 80 full slabs of all types.

Westchester Marble & Granite's team of Jeff Lupica, vice president, and Tom Thyne, showroom designer, collaborated with interior design firm Ciccone Simone of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The design creatively converts a stark warehouse-type building into a facility that would operate as a slab warehouse, office space, and top-notch stone and tile showroom for the Atlanta area.

The showroom offers a clean, modern feel in space and design. The entryway and display windows showcase several illuminated panels of natural onyx that reveal the natural translucence of the stone. More than 25 four-foot doors fashioned from the raw ends of granite, marble and limestone slabs display Walker Zanger's wide-range of stone materials. The showroom also offers consumers a number of vignettes that demonstrate various uses of the entire Westchester Collection, incorporating its products into working kitchens, baths and fireplaces.

Appointed to manage the new Atlanta showroom, George Duncan brings more than 25 years of experience in the building stone and tile industry to the team. His expertise is in the areas of fabrication, installation, restoration and specification of natural stone and ceramics. Duncan has also held several industry positions, including: member of the Building Stone Institute's Board of Governors, vice chairman of the Dimensional Stone Committee of the ASTM, and chairman of the Restoration Committee of the Marble Institute of America.

The new showroom is open to both the trade and public and is located at: 791 Miami Circle NE, Atlanta, GA 30324.
