Timothy J. Lardner, 53, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 in Albuquerque, NM. Tim was preceded in death by his Mother, Lois Mae Lardner. Tim is survived by his wife Janice, daughter Michelle, son Michael, daughter Britney and his youngest daughter Nicole, his Father Vincent Lardner, his step mother, Mary Kay, his sister Cindy Mechenbier and her husband John, his brother David Lardner and his wife Barbara, his brother Scott Lardner and his wife Chris, his brother Jim Lardner and his wife Daphne and his brother John Lardner, along with 15 nieces and nephews and countless friends. Tim was a graduate of New Mexico State University and spent his career running and building his family business, New Mexico Travertine, into a worldwide provider of premier natural stone products. Tim was an ardent supporter of his community and over the past 30 years of living in Belen, served on numerous boards and in many organizations. Some of these include the Chamber of Commerce, Tierra Grande, Airport Advisory board, UNM Valencia Campus Development, Valencia County Fair, and many others. Tim was voted Citizen of the Year for Belen in 2005 and was most proud of the many projects and events that he participated in throughout Valencia County. As president of New Mexico Travertine, Tim helped to expand the company's capabilities and product offerings every year, and was instrumental in the acquisition of several new quarry operations and finding new products for the company to process and sell. Tim's favorite pastime was cultivating a vineyard just south of Belen and making (and drinking) wine with his family and friends. Tim will be missed most by his children who had the very best Father, by his wife who had an honorable and steadfast husband, by his family who had a big brother always watching over them, and by his friends who had a confidant they could always count on. Tim will be missed for his unending spirit of adventure, his willingness to help anyone in need, and his presence in the community that he loved. The family requests donations to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers. Please visit the online guestbook for Tim at RememberTheirStory.com.
