NEWSLINE: ONE LINERS ...

May 16, 2002
EuroStone Machine, a division of Pyramid Supply, announced that it has reached an agreement with stone equipment manufacturers Thibaut, S.A. of Vire, France; L?ffler Maschinenbau of Bavaria, Germany; and ecs EICH of Herborn, Germany, to continue representation of their products in the U.S. The new unit, EuroStone Machine, will also provide after-sales service with two full-time service technicians and a reserve of critical spares in case of need. The new division is headed by Peter Edwards, who has been joined by Samuel Lemarchand, factory trained by both Thibaut and L?ffler and experts in shop layout and system design. Also coming on board is Patrick Desplanque, with more than 20 years of experience in the field. Eurostone Machine operates principally from its new 14,000-square-foot facility in Barre, VT, with a sales office in Atlanta, GA. Owners of Thibaut or L?ffler machines can contact Edwards, Lemarchand or Desplanque in Atlanta at 866-414-1997, or Randy Reynolds in Barre at 800-723-7734.

GranQuartz Stone Tools and Equipment has announced the addition of three new salespeople to its outside sales team. Rob Tait will serve Kansas, Missouri, Iowa and Nebraska; Patrick DePaulis will serve Arizona, Nevada and Utah; and Tony Barrasso will serve Northern Florida. The new salespeople have a combined 41 years of experience in the diamond tool industry. In addition, GranQuartz has hired William Rodriguez as an Inside Sales Associate at the Atlanta, GA, call center. GranQuartz now has a Spanish-speaking sales representative in all of its U.S. locations, and it opened its sixth SuperStore, in Houston, TX.

Precision H2O recently celebrated its 10th anniversary as a waterjet company, which cuts tile, stone, porcelain and other various materials into complex murals, detailed signage, corporate logos and geometric shapes throughout the U.S. The company operates from facilities in Spokane, WA, and Salt Lake City, UT. The beginnings of Precision H2O step back to a trade show in 1992 attended by founder Dick Baiter and his wife Lynn. There, the couple observed a waterjet demonstration and knew the displayed technology would benefit their existing company, Quarry Tile. Quickly, the waterjet idea jumped from Quarry Tile to its own venue, Precision H2O.
