The International Masonry Institute will host a Tile, Marble and Terrazzo Expo series in five U.S. cities this fall: Detroit on September 22; New York on October 21; Pittsburgh on October 28; Chicago on November 19; and Cleveland on November 23. Each Expo will include architectural seminars and informational exhibits of material suppliers and industry associations. The tile seminar will address design applications of various types of tile, and will look in-depth at case studies of common installation methods. The marble seminar will address stone selection and finishes, anchoring systems, tolerances and restoration. The terrazzo seminar will explore the commonly used systems of sand cushion and epoxy terrazzo, as well as the new flowable cement technology. Industry co-sponsors of the series are the Tile Contractors Association of America, the Marble Institute of America, and the National Terrazzo and Mosaic Association. The program satisfies state requirements for continuing education, and attendees receive 3 HSW learning units.
