GRANQUARTZ STONE & CONCRETE SYSTEMS EXPANDS SALES STAFF

Ty Consolino has been appointed Midwest Sales Manager for GranQuartz Stone & Concrete Systems. In his position, Consolino is responsible for building partnerships with concrete and stone restoration, maintenance and fabrication accounts throughout the region. Consolino will be taking over the territory for Jeff Dykstra, who is moving to Las Vegas, NV, to serve in the role of Western Sales Manager.
Consolino brings 16 years of experience in the maintenance industry, having served as National Sales Manager for CleansystemsUS, an importer/distributor of microfiber products, as well as Maintenance Manager for Equinox. He holds a degree from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
Dykstra brings a wealth of experience to the Western market, having already worked for GranQuartz for the past five years.
“We are pleased to have Ty on our sales team,” said Joe Cooper, National Sales Manager for GranQuartz. “His expertise in the maintenance industry will allow him to provide continued strong service and support with our cutting edge systems to stone care and concrete professionals in the Midwest. Also, we are confident that our customers in the Western states will find Jeff to be an outstanding asset in helping them improve their businesses.”
These moves are part of GranQuartz’s long-term strategic plan to offer value-added service through broader sales coverage across the U.S. With eight fully stocked branch locations throughout the U.S. and Canada, GranQuartz currently employs over 50 outside sales and technical support professionals calling on concrete, natural and engineered stone fabrication, maintenance and restoration craftsmen throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Surfaces 2013 preview

Surfaces 2013 -- to be held in conjunction with StonExpo/Marmomacc Americas -- is slated for January 29 to 31 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV. The show, which also includes an extensive educational program that will be held from January 28 to 31, provides a place for thousands of floor covering retailers, distributors, installers, architects, designers and builders from around the world to gather and view the latest products, get vital education, network with other floor covering professionals and conduct business.

More than 600 of the largest manufacturers and suppliers representing products in every major category, including carpet, tile, hardwood, rugs, laminate, resilient and stone, are expected to exhibit at the trade show. Hanley Wood, owner and operator of the exhibition, reports that they have many new exhibiting companies and returning ones who have expanded their booth size. Additionally, Surfaces 2013 will host more than 40 workshops, seminars and mini sessions led by industry experts in the fields of business, sales, marketing, installation and design. Attendees can earn AIA, NKBA, AIBD, IICRC and AIA/CES industry designation. Here is just a small sampling of some of the displays that will be present at Surfaces 2013.
