Patriot Rebel Router Work Station

Granite City Tool Co. has introduced a revolutionary all-in-one work center and sink cut out machine, developed for the stone countertop industry. The Router Work Station, called the “Patriot Rebel,” complements the company’s Patriot gantry saw M-127-18 machinery, made in the U.S., with all parts and full-service available from Granite City Tool. The Rebel will produce an average bowl hole in 3 cm granite in less than 15 minutes, and requires no clean up, according to the company. Just cut the hole and polish. In addition, the faucet holes can be drilled, countertop edges and backsplashes can be profiled and polished, and perfect flat top polishing can be produced. Diamond wheels are also available to produce drain boards. An extension table can be added to the already sturdy design, to allow the ease of handling larger kitchen tops with multiple sink openings, reports Granite City Tool.
The Rebel features a powerful 3 HP, 3-phase 240-volt motor with variable speed from 2,700 to 10,000 RPM, and it runs on standard 20 AMP, single-phase, 240-volt service that should be readily available in most fabrication shops. The variable-speed motor is similar to what CNC machines use, and features center waterfeed through the spindle. The Rebel utilizes a versatile radial arm that pivots a full 360 degrees, and provides a working length of 7 feet. Put a diamond core bit on the spindle and drill faucet holes in minutes, by simply turning the hand crank, according to Granite City Tool. Making sink holes requires a speedy-cut diamond tool with a brass sleeve that follows a template, allowing the fabricator to cut an accurate and clean bowl opening in record time. The cutting is done with a replaceable diamond tip. Edge work is done with standard diamond profile router bits.
