WEST ORANGE, NJ - Last April, a new gazebo was unveiled at the Essex County 9-11 Memorial at Eagle Rock Reservation in West Orange, NJ. The gazebo was among the latest improvements to the memorial, along with handicapped accessible walkways, a field of wildflowers and seating areas looking out over the Manhattan skyline.
Architect Daniel Dowd of Barreto Dowd Architects was commissioned to handle the gazebo area of the memorial site. Dowd chose to use Glacier Blue™ Devonian sandstone in and around the gazebo leading down to an area overlooking Manhattan. The pale blue stone from Upstate New York has been chosen for residential, commercial and institutional projects across the country.
