Saint-Gobain has achieved GreenGuard Indoor Air Quality and GreenGuard Children & Schools Certification for its Grenite® series of engineered stone surfaces. In order to become GreenGuard Certified, the entire Grenite line met stringent certification requirements for low emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

“These certifications reinforce our commitment to producing quality products that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also help set an industry standard of sustainability and ongoing health and safety,” said Diana Ohl, product manager for engineered stone at Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics.

Founded in 2001, the GreenGuard Environmental Institute is the world’s leading third-party guide to low-emitting home and office products and building materials. The GreenGuard Indoor Air Quality Certification Program recognizes products that meet strict chemical emissions limits, which helps create healthier indoor environments. Offering even stricter qualification criteria, GreenGuard Children & Schools Certification validates low-emitting products used in environments where children and other sensitive populations spend an extensive amount of time.

With optimum abrasion resistance, Grenite is well-suited for high-traffic horizontal and vertical applications in the retail, hospitality, banking, education, healthcare, entertainment and restaurant industries.
