KOLKATA, INDIA -- Orient Ceramics & Industries Ltd. (OCIL), a large manufacturer of ceramic tile, recently opened its first Orient Tile Boutique (OTB) in Kolkata, India. The opening of the OTB is in line with the rapid expansion of the company's retail plans and is dedicated to providing consumers an unparalleled selection of world-class products -- focused on showcasing the beauty and value found in ceramic tiles, reports the tile manufacturer.

Orient Tile Boutique is situated on Burdwan Road in Alipore, the most premium location in Kolkata, and is spread over 2,500 square feet. It is one of the biggest stores in the region, and will enable customers to touch, feel and experience the entire product portfolio, according to OCIL. Madhur Daga, Executive Director of Orient Ceramics and Industries Limited, inaugurated the Orient Tile Boutique in Kolkata. West Bengal Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Minister, Firhad Hakim, presided over the function as the Chief Guest.

"It is really a matter of pride for us to have our Orient Tile Boutique in Kolkata -- the city of vibrant culture," said Daga. "OCIL eagerly looks forward to consolidating its dominating presence in the Eastern and North Eastern markets, and to enhance its already prominent market share in these territories. From our Kolkata OTB, we will also cater to the needs of emerging markets in Orissa and Jharkhand, which promises improved opportunity in coming years. It is evident that in recent times the market has shown signs of being more conducive to growth and Orient shall therefore look at becoming an even more prominent player in the market"

Speaking on the occasion, Hakim, said, "The people of Kolkata will now get to experience world-class products offered by Orient. I wish Orient success for this venture and hope the company has a bigger and even more prominent presence in the state.

Mr. Vijay Shankar Sharma, CEO of Orient Ceramics and Industries also expressed his pleasure with the opening. "This Orient Tile Boutique will provide an exemplary experience to our valued customers and showcase OCIL's brands: Orient, Stiler and recently launched Orient International," he said. "The Orient Tile Boutique is designed to create an impression of the actual look and feel of tiles, which makes the buying and selection process easier. We are continuously working towards our commitment of providing our esteemed customers world-class tiles with contemporary aesthetics."

The Orient Tile Boutique showcases a technological breakthrough and an innovative idea from Orient, patent-pending Forever Tiles. The floor tiles have resistance to abrasion that is 40% higher than offered by other brands and has 50 to 100% lower water absorption as compared to other brands, as per independent test reports, according to the company.

The tiles, which are designed by Maria Jose Castillo, Chief Product and Solutions Designer and the only European in-house designer in the country of India, will offer the consumers a wide range and unmatched designs to choose among a variety of brands by Orient Ceramics for wall, floor and facades, elevation, wet areas and many other living and working spaces.
