A few weeks ago, I met Jonathan Mitnick, vice president of CCS Stone, Inc., managing partner of Marble Devices, U.S. and current chair of the Marble Institute of America (MIA) Safety Committee, for lunch. Jon's shop, which is a family run business, is nearby to our Paramus, NJ, office, and he has been a longtime friend of Stone World. In fact, he designs and fabricates our "Fabricator of the Year" award, which is presented annually during StonExpo. While we did briefly discuss the upcoming award, the main reason for our meeting was Jon's new role on the MIA Safety Committee.
Those acquainted with Jon know that he is dedicated to the stone industry. Through the years he has gotten involved with the MIA, and more recently, with its Safety Committee, which was launched in 2010.
