ASHEVILLE, NC - AB Technical College will be offering a course this January called "Introduction to the Dimensional Stone Trades." The course is one of the first courses in the dimensional stone industry offered in the U.S. for college credit, according to the instructor, Fred Hueston. The course will cover the use of dimensional stone such as marble and granite flooring, granite kitchen countertops, and the restoration and maintenance of these surfaces. The installation of marble and granite flooring, fabrication of granite countertops and polishing marble will also be introduced. The 10-week course will be taught at The National Training Center for Stone and Masonry Trades, 70 Westside Drive in Asheville, NC, one evening per week starting in January.
