NEW YORK, NY -- Silestone, a leader in quartz surfacing, hosted cocktails and a private viewing of Counter Space: Design and the Modern Kitchen at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City on Monday, October 18, 2010. This exclusive reception was attended by over 200 interior designers, architects, kitchen designers, fabricators and other leaders in design. The event was hosted by Eduardo Cosentino, Director of Sales for the Cosentino Group, with Juliet Kinchin, Curator, Department of Architecture and Design at MoMA, and Maggie Cohen, President of ASID New York Metro. The Counter Space exhibition takes a fascinating look at architectural modernism from the inside out, through the 20th century transformation of the kitchen.

Guests enjoyed a private viewing of the exhibition after museum hours with cocktails and canapés by Daniel Boulud. Roberto Contreras, Chief Executive Officer of Cosentino North America gave welcome remarks and underscored the importance of Silestone's partnership with MoMA.

"We are honored to sponsor this incredible exhibition and to partner for the first time with The Museum of Modern Art," said Contreras. "The Silestone brand is synonymous with the sophisticated modern-day kitchen, and shares a deep appreciation for the important, ever-changing, role of this room in the home. We hope that Counter Space inspires visitors to consider kitchen design and its significance in a whole new light." The partnership with MoMA is yet another highpoint in a significant year for Silestone's business, as its parent company Cosentino launches plans to significantly expand its presence in the U.S. in the next 12 months.
