TORRINGTON, CT - The convergence of the masonry and quarry industries took a significant step forward as the Masonry Division of O&G Industries and Stony Creek Quarry Corp. announced a strategic alliance based on a shared vision to provide LEED-certified quality granite to the marketplace. By engaging the companies at the material, business and marketing levels, the alliance will allow both companies to drive new growth opportunities and has the potential to ultimately transform project specifications, reaching higher LEED certification levels and meeting reduced carbon-footprint regulations.

By combining O&G’s contractor customers and architectural network with Stony Creek’s product availability, the newly formed alliance will accelerate and fulfill LEED building requirements for granite materials. LEED is a certification program and the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings.

Taking a decisive step further, O&G has agreed to display and inventory Stony Creek products at all five O&G masonry stores and showrooms, enabling faster turnaround time for stone veneers, steps, pavers, treads and decorative aggregate requirements to meet its customers’ demands. Stony Creek has authorized O&G as a distributor of Stony Creek material.

“We are extremely pleased to be aligned with Stony Creek Quarry, a company that offers quality granite and a rock-solid history right here in Connecticut,” remarked Bob Rizzo, Vice President of Operations with O&G Industries, Masonry Division. “We believe that our vast network of customers in the architectural market combined with the LEED-certified granite quarried through Stony Creek Quarry will yield some remarkable exteriors and future prominent landmarks throughout the New England region.”

“Teaming up with O&G Industries provides us exclusive access to build off a solid brand in the masonry industry,” said Doug Anderson, President of Stony Creek Quarry. “This agreement will allow us to expand our product offerings through a well-respected, reliable company and tap into a loyal customer base. It’s the perfect fit for both companies.”
