NEW YORK, NY --Walker Zanger, supplier of stone, handmade ceramic tile and architectural glass products, appoints its Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Pat Petrocelli and Vice President of Tile Sales, Mike Bastone, to the company¿s board of directors.

"At a closely held, private company, there is always the risk that the interests of the owners may overshadow the interests of the company, its employees and its customers," said Jonathan Zanger, Walker Zanger¿s president and member of the board. "Having board members from outside the Zanger family will broaden our horizons, bringing the kind of lively debate that energizes our company into the boardroom."

Petrocelli, who started with the company as chief financial officer in 1997, was appointed chief operating officer in 1999 and is currently responsible for all Walker Zanger operations. Previous to his employment at Walker Zanger, Petrocelli served as the executive vice president, chief operating officer and director of Chinon America, a wholly owned subsidiary of Chinon Industries, Japan.

Bastone, a 22-year Walker Zanger veteran, has served as vice president of tile sales since 1999. Previous positions he has held at the company include national sales manager of distribution sales, product development, purchasing and customer service.

"Anyone who knows these gentleman, or who has worked with them, knows that they have only the best interest of our company at heart," said Zanger. "They both have the kind of integrity and long-term outlook that the board will always value."
