Jet Edge Inc.

Jet Edge, Inc. recently introduced its latest waterjet cutting technologies - a versatile High Rail Gantry precision waterjet system, and its new iP60-50 ultra-high pressure intensifier pump.

Capable of producing complex parts out of virtually any material, the High Rail Gantry features a stable overhead design that allows full access to the work envelope and raises critical components out of the process environment. The High Rail Gantry can hold an accuracy of 0.005 inch with a repeatability of 0.001 inch over the entire work envelope. It is available in 2-foot increments from 4 x 4 to 24 x 14 feet. Custom sizes are available, and the system can easily be expanded in place as a business grows, reports Jet Edge. The gantry’s mechanical components are protected by stainless steel enclosures versus traditional bellows that can puncture and tear. In addition, Jet Edge uses a filtered blower on each enclosure to introduce a constant positive air pressure that ensures there is no chance of a negative pressure condition in the enclosure system.

Jet Edge High Rail Gantry systems are powered by the company’s legendary line of intensifier pumps, which range from 30 to 260 horsepower and are rated for 60,000 psi (4,100 bar).

Featuring an extended life hydraulic system and tie-rod design, the 50-horsepower iP60-50 is rated for 60,000 psi (4,100 bar) and is capable of producing output pressures from 1,000 to 55,000 psi (3,800 bar) with flow rates of 0 to 1.1 gallons (5 liters) per minute to a variety of cutting, surface preparation or cleaning tools. The iP60-50 provides easy access for all service and maintenance. It features non-threaded high-pressure components in the high-pressure cylinder, an improved performance check valve, and low torque values. The Jet Edge iP60-50 intensifier pump leads the industry with ease of operation and low operating cost, and requires very few tools to maintain, according to the company.
