PALATINE, IL -- Gregory Schad, technical director at TEC Specialty Products, has been named the U.S. voting representative to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Technical Committee 189 Working Group 6. The group is dedicated to developing standards for tile and installation materials.

"I am thrilled to be a part of ISO, an organization that sets the standards for product performance, testing methods and technical language for global specifications," said Schad. "Universal standards are good for our consumers and their businesses as they make it easier for us to provide quality products and services."

During his career, Schad has led the development of innovative products for the tile industry, including Super Flex, Double Duty, Accucolor Grout and most recently, 1Flex.

"It's an honor to have Greg play a key role in such a vital international organization," said Jim Griffin, TEC's president and gen-eral manager. "TEC Specialty Products is committed to assist-ing ISO in eliminating technical barriers to trade and creating standards for consumers and professionals."

Schad is leading the U.S. committee, which works with 17 other participating countries and has published 22 ISO standards. International standards help raise the level of quality, safety, reliability, efficiency and inter-changeability of products and services for consumers and businesses.
