Celebration for new manufacturing facility

MIAMI, FL — Employees, customers, partners and friends gathered to help Custom Building Products and Jamo celebrate the company’s new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Miami. The event marked the grand opening of a brand new, multi-million dollar investment by Custom and Jamo to meet their customers’ needs as the company continues to grow. Through the generosity of contributions from Custom and Jamo’s partners, funds were raised for the Dan Marino Foundation — an organization dedicated to helping children with chronic illnesses and developmental disabilities.

The event was hosted by executives of Custom Building Products, including Tom Peck, Jr., president, and Mike Bilek, Jr., vice president of manufacturing. Among the guests were distributors, customers and suppliers. Jack Morrow, mayor of the city of Medley, also attended the event, which showcased the new technology and capabilities of the facility.

The new 50,000-square-foot, fully automated plant was built to address the growing need for increased capacity and storage for Custom and Jamo, and to enhance the company’s ability to meet and exceed its customer service goals in the South Florida market. Improvements include a robotic high-speed, state-of-the-art thinset line, which promises unmatched productivity. Also featured in the new plant are state-of-the-art VNA (very narrow aisle) racks, along with automated functions, such as palletizing and shrink wrapping, meaning improved efficiency and service for both customers and vendors.

“Custom service has always been the highest priority of Custom and Jamo,” said Fred Gomez, plant director. “These technological innovations mean we can now exceed our goals in on-time delivery of 100 percent complete orders, while maintaining the standards of quality that Custom and Jamo are known for.”
