AIA EXPO WILL ONCE AGAIN INCLUDE STONE & TILE PAVILION . . .

May 1, 2008

The AIA 2008 National Convention and Design Exposition is set to take place in Boston, MA, from May 15 to 17, 2008. Once again, the expo floor will feature the Stone & Tile Pavilion, sponsored by Stone World and Contemporary Stone & Tile Design Magazines.

The expo will include more than 800 exhibitors. Of this total, a portion is dedicated to stone products as well as installation and maintenance supplies. Show hours on May 15 and 16 are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., while show hours on May 17 are 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In addition to the many seminars that are part of the convention, architects can also take part in more than 70 expo education programs, earning additional continuing education credit on the show floor, Thursday through Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Architects must successfully complete a minimum of four different expo education programs and pass a four-question review for each (earning 75% per review) offered by at least two different providers in order to accrue one learning unit.

Stone industry programs are offered by CaesarStone Quartz Surfaces (1. Quartz Surfacing Characteristics and Applications; 2. Key Fabrication Techniques with Quartz Surfaces); Hohmann and Barnard / Exterior Wall Products (Solutions to Common Masonry Wall Failures); Italian Trade Commission (The Innovation in the Dimension Stone Field); Natural Stone Council (1. How Natural Stone Can Support Green Design; 2. Production and Installation of Natural Sawn Thin Stone; 3. Selecting the Best Natural Stone for Your Project); Noble Company (Moisture Management: Waterproofing in High End Applications); Veronafiere (1. Sustainable Design: Use of Natural Stone in Green Architecture; 2. Rosso Verona: History Sourcing and Use of Natural Stone in Exterior Cladding).
