Echo Lake granite was favored for its warm beige-colored tones with numerous sporadic, dark black markings and subtle accents of rose. That was designed to look like a grouping of boulders that represents a cairn. They’re found all along Minnesota’s North Shore as trail markers, or kind of the beginning of a trail. Annicca by Cambria An expansive waterfall countertop made of Annicca by Cambria adds elegance to the presidential suite. Kyndred Hearth Each of the public areas of the hotel are uniquely defined. One of the most important was Kyndred Hearth, the main restaurant, a space that embodies the Scandinavian concept of hygge (pronounced “hooga”), a coziness shared with friends which makes the winter pleasant. Armitage with a matte finish was selected for the restaurant’s bar. Swanbridge The main attraction of Kyndred Hearth is the wood-fired pizza oven. Swanbridge with a matte finish was used for the countertop. Ella tabletops The elegance of the Ella tabletops complement the wood floors and other materials used in the design of Keras, the Omni’s lounge bar. Brittanicca Gold Matte bar top The Brittanicca Gold Matte bar top at Keras enhances the overall ambience of the space. Photo courtesy of Mike McNamara Wood-inspired porcelain tile from La Fabbrica's Kauri collection For the flooring throughout the kitchen, Griffin opted for a striking, wood-inspired porcelain tile from La Fabbrica’s Kauri collection in the dark gray color, “Victoria Tech.” Just over 700 square feet of the diagonally patterned tile was utilized in a 24- x 48-inch format, which provides a nice complement to the massive white marble countertop on the island that stretches almost the entire length of the kitchen. Photo courtesy of Marc Boileau kitchen remodeling For the 652-square-foot kitchen, which more than doubled in size from its original 276-square-foot layout, Griffin focused on opening up the cramped space. “This was achieved by incorporating the adjoining, open, double carport space into the new layout, resulting in a chef’s kitchen, which features an abundance of storage, bistro seating for six at an island, a connecting kitchen lounge and a seamless flow onto the adjoining, outdoor dining terrace,” he said. For the main flooring, 50 square feet of ceramic tile from Mirage’s Ruche collection was utilized. The 5- x 4 1/4-inch, honeycomb-style hexagonal tiles, which incorporate matte, glossy and metallic finishes, add an interesting textural finish to the floor. Neolith surfaces Neolith’s range of surfaces inspired by classical Italian marble impressed all those involved in the project. minimalist but immersive atmosphere The idea for the store’s look and feel was developed by Nicole + Felicia’s chief retail designer, Tangzhonghang. He wanted to create a minimalist but immersive atmosphere within the space, a backdrop against which the atelier’s beautiful wedding dresses would stand out and deliver a real wow factor. Neolith Neolith not only provided the luxurious vibe the wedding boutique required, but it also possesses the durability needed for the high-trafficked space.
