Featuring more than 2,000 stone companies, the 16th edition of the Xiamen Stone Fair in Xiamen China, brought together companies from all over the world. Between the four exhibit halls of the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center, the show hit a new record with 180,000 square meters of exhibition space, hosting exhibitors from 56 countries. “We are happy that we are playing a role that tries our best to push the stone industry forward,” said Lai Guoxiang, general manager of the Xiamen Stone Fair, which was held from March 6 to 9, 2016. “It’s not just a success for us, but for the entire industry.”
The exhibition was split into four different sections, featuring domestic stone, international stone, machinery and tools, and an outdoor sector. New exhibitors accounted for 20% of the total amount of companies there. The international pavilions also grew in size, with the Italian pavilion expanding by 19.6%, the Egyptian pavilion by 50% and the Turkish Pavilion by 32.9%. There were also numerous countries that participated for the first time that included, Czech, Venezuela, Zimbabwe, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Morocco.
