Traveling 1,250 miles throughout Italy in a just over a week, the fourth edition of the SFA tour provided educational and networking opportunities between fabricators and members of the Italian stone industry
Now in its fourth year, the Stone Fabricators Alliance’s (SFA) annual trip to Italy has become a well-recognized educational tour. With only 15 to 20 participants selected each year, a seat on the bus is coveted and referred to by many SFA members as the “golden ticket.” This past March, the group covered 1,250 miles throughout Italy — from coast to coast and everything in between. Stone World was fortunate enough to have a seat on the bus, and the following pages will provide an overview of each of the many machine and tooling manufacturers, stone producers and suppliers that were visited on the tour, which was organized in collaboration with Tenax S.p.A. of Verona, Italy..
According to Ron Hannah, SFA Advisor to the Board, there are several criteria that are considered during the selection process. “The SFA is all about fabricators helping fabricators,” he said. “We want to reward those guys who are taking care of the industry.”
