Artisan Group countertop fabricators across America raised $27,000 at the group’s second national granite yard sale, “Counters For A Cause,” to help Homes for Our Troops build specially adapted homes for veterans. Homeowners purchased beautiful pieces of stone remnants and slabs at discounted prices and helped a veteran at the same time. Combined with last year’s sale, Artisan Group members now have raised a total just shy of $60,000.

Artisan Group Board Member Mitch Hires of Construction Resources recently presented the check to Marine Corporal Tony Mullis at the ground breaking ceremony for his home in Hawkinsville, GA.

“Construction Resources was honored to present the check to ‘Homes for Our Troops’ on behalf of Artisan Group this past Saturday,” said Hires.

“Our veterans give up many things, including parts of themselves to defend the freedom we Americans hold so dear,” said Artisan Group Executive Director Chad Seiders “We are proud of them, and consider it a privilege to give something back to them. Construction Resources raised the most funds during Counters For A Cause, so we
wanted them to present the donation to Corporal Mullis and Homes For Our Troops.”

“Homes for Our Troops appreciates the fundraising efforts of the Artisan Group,” said Ken Preston, President and Director of Homes For Our Troops. “Because of the support from patriotic companies across the nation, we are able to restore freedom and independence back to our severely injured veterans through the gift of a specially adapted home.”

Artisan Group members who participated in this Counters For A Cause sale and/or contributed include: Eastern Surfaces, Bangor Wholesale Laminates, Rocksolid Stoneworks, Innovative Surfaces, Blume’s Solid Surfaces, Solid Tops, Duracite, Construction Resources, Stone Store, Top Master, Lakeside Solid Surfaces, Surface Products, Hoffman Fixtures & Trindco.
