Laticrete International, Inc. celebrated the Grand Opening of its manufacturing plant in China on April 2 at Songjiang, Shanghai. Laticrete (Shanghai) Building Material Co. Ltd is a wholly-owned subsidiary of U.S.-based Laticrete International. The new plant is the first fully owned Laticrete plant outside of the U.S. and has been designed and tailored to meet the stringent quality requirements of Laticrete plants worldwide. Its production line manufactures dry mortars, latex and epoxy products, which include tile and stone adhesives, grouts, latex additives, waterproofing, floor underlayments and EIFS systems serving Greater China.

Laticrete also announced that it has made a generous contribution to the Green Mountain Club’s “Second Century Campaign: Securing the Future of the Long Trail,” a volunteer led effort to help protect the nation’s oldest long distance hiking trail that runs 270 miles through the scenic Green Mountains of Vermont. The Green Mountain Club, founded in 1910 to build, maintain and protect the Long Trail, launched the Second Century Campaign in June of 2007 at its 97th annual meeting, in an effort to increase the club’s endowments for trail and shelter maintenance, land stewardship and to rebuild the Marvin B. Gameroff Hiking Center, which was lost to fire in 2003. Laticrete Chairman and CEO, David Rothberg, himself an avid outdoor enthusiast, quickly became involved and Laticrete joined the cause with a major corporate leadership gift to help preserve the Long Trail.
