ONTARIO, CANADA -- The Terrazzo, Tile and Marble Association of Canada (TTMAC) has announced the following companies as winners of its 2001 Hardsurface Awards competition. Duochem Inc. received an award for the Scarborough Town Centre in the "Terrazzo & Precast Terrazzo Tile" category. The "Manufactured Tile" category went to Maple Terrazzo, Marble and Tile Inc. for the Yorkdale Shopping Mall. The company also won the Unique Special Award for its work on the Westin Hotel in Ottawa, Ontario, which was named "Project of the Year." The Governor’s Hill II project won the "Natural & Agglomerate Stone Tile and Slabs" award for Ciot Marble & Granite Inc. Twin City Tile Co. Ltd. was awarded for its restoration work on the Registry Theatre. Additionally, the Historical Award went to Gem Campbell Terrazzo & Tile Inc. for the Sun Life Building, and National Ceramic + Granite Ltd. won the Judges Award of Merit for the Ecole Primaire Boisbraind.
