Mapei recently introduced Ultrabond ECO 977, a fast-setting, 100%-solids, one-component, moisture-cured urethane adhesive specifically designed for the installation of domestic solid and engineered wood flooring. “Ultrabond ECO 977 answers the challenge of faster, more secure wood-flooring installations, especially when working with concrete slabs that have high moisture content,” said Jeff Johnson, Mapei business manager for Floor Covering Installation Systems and Surface Preparation Products. “This is an even easier choice for engineered and solid domestic hardwood installations when you consider that Ultrabond ECO 977 is a lightweight formulation in a 4-gallon [15,1-L] pail.”
The Daltile Statements Program has recently named Steve Chesin of Carpets N More as its Statements Dealer of the Year. The brand also recognized Statements retailers Jeff Clayner and Jerry Litteral of Keystone Flooring for Outstanding Sales and Achievement as well as Statements retailer Patty Ziolkowski of Wolde Flooring as the Rising Star. All three awards were given during the recently hosted Daltile Statements Program conference. This conference is held every other year.
The American Institute of Architects (AIA) and its members are launching a variety of initiatives to help address violence in schools through design.
“Architects have a role to play in addressing school violence,” said 2018 AIA President Carl Elefante, FAIA. “For two decades, architects have worked with school communities racked by tragedy to develop better strategies in school design. While public discourse on access to firearms and mental health services remains deadlocked, the power of design can improve school safety now. AIA is committed to working with stakeholders and officials to make schools safer while building the positive, nurturing, learning environments we all want for our children.”
