“Stonewood” Pecan
Maestro Mosaics, a Chicago-based company by
Granite & Marble Resources, Inc., has introduced “Stonewood.” Made of real
stone and marking its entrance into the U.S. for the first time,
“Stonewood” combines an enhanced, luxurious look of rich wood with the durability
and functionality of stone, reports the manufacturer.
According to Maestro Mosaics, “Stonewood” offers an
alternative to exotic hardwood. Just as there are many species of wood, there
are now several species of “Stonewood” because of the different types of
quarries found around the world.

“Simply stated: stone lasts forever,” said
Robert Briggs, Vice President and General Manager of Maestro Mosaics by Granite
& Marble Resources, Inc. “I found stones that were exotic wood-like in appearance,
then took it a step further and manufactured it into ‘Stonewood.’ We are
ecstatic to be the first to present it to consumers and the interior design
trade.”
“Stonewood” is available in seven exotic colors:
Mahogany, Pecan, Rosewood, Ebony, Lacewood, Bamboo and Cypress. The planks are available in four
sizes: 4- x 18-, 4- x 24-, 4- x 30- and 4- x 36-inches, and can be installed in
thin-set or mud-set, as in all natural stone. For coordination with
countertops, Maestro Mosaics will offer available matching slabs in ¾- and 1
¼-inch thickness.
