VERONA, ITALY — At the Marmomacc trade fair in Verona, Italy, the SFA’s Ron Hannah of Cadenza Granite & Marble in Concord, NC, was awarded the “Mastro della Pietra” award — literally translated as a “Master of Stone” — for his lifelong contributions to the stone industry. Among them, Hannah has been instrumental in connecting SFA members with Italian technology producers, and he has worked tirelessly to arrange multiple trips to Italy, which has allowed open dialogue between fabricators and technology manufacturers.

Hannah’s work and contributions to the stone industry were also acknowledged in 2007, when he received the Stone World Fabricator of the Year Award.
Also receiving a “Mastro della Pietra” was Claudio Corra of Margranite in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Corra is a well-respected importer and producer in Canada, and is the only producer of blocks in British Colombia, with two gangsaws in operation. He is said to have the largest selection of imported Italian marble precious stones in the region.
