HMK[r] Stone Care Products traces its roots to 1976, when founder Helmut Moeller launched Moeller-Chemie in Kehlheim, Germany (HMK stands for Helmut Moeller Kehlheim). By introducing innovative stone care products and demonstrating their strength in residential and commercial applications, the company earned immediate recognition from both clients and competitors in Germany and abroad. After a long illness, Helmut Moeller passed away on May 18, 2003. Moeller-Chemie Germany continues to be a family-owned business with son Juergen Moeller and son-in-law Matthias Spreitzer as general managers.

In 1986, Detlev Wolske introduced HMK[r] Stone Care Products to the American market, specializing in the selling and distribution of HMK Stone Care Products for both wholesale and retail industries. Since its foundation in 1986, HMK Stone Care System has emerged as major supplier of top-of-the-line stone care products within the United States, including Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. In 1988, Moeller-Chemie Benelux was founded in the Netherlands.
