NJ expansion for MSI

MS International, Inc. (MIS) has expanded its operations in New Jersey with a new 100,000-square-foot tile distribution center and a redesigned 81,000-square-foot-slab warehouse and showroom.

EDISON, NJ - MS International, Inc. (MSI), a leading North American distributor of natural stone, has opened a new tile distribution facility in Edison, NJ. The new 100,000-square-foot distribution center stocks MSI’s tile products, while the existing 81,000-square-foot location has been redesigned and renovated to focus on the market for slabs.

The new tile distribution center is conveniently located less than a half mile from its current facility, and the combined space will enable MSI to provide a broader inventory of both tile and slab products to its customers in the Northeast and New England as well as the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest regions. Concurrent with the opening, MSI has also completed a new state-of-the-art 25,000-square-foot tile and slab showroom in Edison, encompassing over 350 colors of natural stone.

The slab viewing area features ample lighting, heat and carpeting -- all geared toward making the buying experience as pleasant as possible.

The showroom has been carefully arranged by material type, and it features samples as well as finished stone patterns and mosaics. The layout is open and spacious, which offers MSI the opportunity to showcase a broad range of materials without “overwhelming” visitors to the space.

The slab warehouse is divided into areas for bundled slabs and individual slabs, and the viewing area features ample lighting, heat and carpeting - all geared toward making the buying experience as pleasant as possible. “We wanted light to show the beauty of the stone, and we want our customers to be comfortable,” explained Rupesh Shah of MSI.

"We wanted light to show the beauty of the stone, and we want our customers to be comfortable," explained Rupesh Shah of MSI.

“From a geographical and distribution perspective, we can efficiently distribute product to approximately 50% of the U.S. population from New Jersey,” said Manu Shah, CEO of MSI. “Accordingly, we decided to make a larger commitment in both inventory and resources to better service our customer base. With the additional space, we can continue to broaden our existing product lines of natural stone and enter new product lines that may benefit our customers.”

With the additional distribution facility in place, MSI’s New Jersey branch now boasts over 40 employees and over 5 million square feet of natural stone inventory. Overall, MSI now has in excess of 25 million square feet of natural stone inventory available in any of its seven distribution centers nationwide, including New Jersey and its headquarters in Orange, CA, as well as locations in Atlanta, Chicago, Phoenix, Dallas and Boston.

The 25,000-square-foot showroom has been carefully arranged by material type, and it features samples as well as finished stone patterns and mosaics.

The new tile distribution center is located at 95 Ethel Road, Edison, NJ 08817; Phone: 732-650-1815; Fax: 732-650-1816; Internet: www.msistone.com. The Vice President of MSI’s New Jersey branch is Kirit Shah.
