Stone & Tile Products

New Products: March 2009

March 1, 2009

CaesarStone, an original quartz surface manufacturer, is proud to offer six different colors that contain recycled materials. CaesarStone’s Carbone, Marrone, Ruby Reflections, Quartz Reflections, Smoky Ash and Chocolate Truffle colors all have the distinction of being part of this collection.

Ruby and Quartz Reflections have been two of CaesarStone’s colors for the past several years. The colors contain post-consumer recycled glass.

The Carbone and Marrone colors both contain recycled CaesarStone material. Taking remnants from fabricators after production and mixing in new CaesarStone material create these colors. These two shades are only available in New York, the Northwest or by special order, according to CaesarStone.

The two new additions in 2009 to the Recycled Collection are Chocolate Truffle and Smoky Ash. They are both comprised of post-consumer recycled glass.

Sonja Mosaic Collection

Walker Zanger, one of the world’s most comprehensive stone and tile companies, has recently introduced its Sonja Mosaic Collection. An antique Roman influence is readily evident in the collection, as is its nod to more modern tastes. The updated color palette tends toward graphic boldness, with blacks, grays and creams accented by deep reds and yellows. The individual tiles in the mosaics are hand-cut marble and limestone - some are even sourced from ancient Roman quarries - and are painstakingly assembled by master craftsmen of Tunisia where the artistry and technique are kept alive today, reports Walker Zanger. The eclectic appeal of the Sonja Mosaic Collection - with 12 different pattern variations and a small brick field tile in seven different colors - makes it ideal for virtually any room of the home, as well as for light commercial applications, such as restaurants and boutiques.

The collection recently captured the attention and respect of the judges at the 2008 Chicago Athenaeum Good Design Award. The company’s inaugural entry into the competition was recognized for its authentic approach to hand craftsmanship and integrity of historic design style coupled with modern sophistication.

The Eston Series

Houzer Inc., a manufacturer of premium stainless steel sinks for major brands in the U.S., Canada and Europe for over thirty years, has recently unveiled its newest line of undermount stainless steel sinks that are specifically designed for trade applications of countertop fabrication.

This new line of versatile and functional stainless steel sinks - called the Eston Series by Houzer - specifically addresses the need for aggressive value engineering by a reputable manufacturer, according to the company.

Houzer’s Eston Line is available in five models, including rectangular Single Bowl, D-Bowl, 50/50, 60/40 and 70/30 Double Bowl. Sink models are available individually boxed or on bulk nested pallets for high-volume production shops or jobsites. Mounting clips are also included. The line is constructed with the same quality assurance and manufacturing expertise that goes in to every Houzer sink, reports the company. This includes:

  • T304 Stainless Steel
  • 18-gauge
  • StoneGuard Spray over rubber pads
  • Lustrous Brushed Satin Finish
  • Preferred 9-inch depths

Noble Niches

Braxton-Bragg has announced the introduction of Noble Company products to its line of quality accessories for the stone and tile industry. Noble Niches provide waterproof, tile-ready recesses for shampoo and other accruements, and Noble Curbs provide a “tileable” surface for the dam. Waterproof shower benches are also available.

Noble shower accessories install in minutes, are lightweight, extremely waterproof and ready-to-tile, making professional project installation faster and easier, reports the manufacturer. Because they are made of high-density, extruded or expanded polystyrene, they provide a leak-proof surface to prohibit the growth of mold and mildew. Noble Niches can also be used in kitchen backsplashes, foyers and entertainment rooms as well as showers.

Noble Company produces pre-formed and sheet membrane accessories that help make showers watertight and save installation time. PRO-SLOPE creates a code-required slope under a shower pan. NobleSeal sheet membranes install under stone or ceramic tile for a waterproof barrier. Other applications include waterproofing, crack isolation and sound reduction. Tile can be bonded directly to NobleSeal. Noble Company also manufactures Chloraloy, a premium shower pan, and Noble Deck™, a composite sheet for exterior applications.

Noble products are made in the U.S.
