While each issue of Contemporary Stone & Tile Design has something fresh to offer, I always find our summer issue to be particularly fun to put together. For as long as I can remember, this issue has always been dedicated to “decorative and glass tile.”

Braxton-Bragg offers the “4-Corner View” Tavy two-sided Tile Spacer as well as the Tavy Tile Puck, which allows professional tile installers to verify that each intersection is perfectly laid. The Tavy Tile Spacer has a circular design that prevents the spacer from bottoming out into the cement or adhesive, making removal extremely easy.
Located in the North Hills area of Austin, TX, a townhouse was redesigned to feature a more exposed layout and also update the finishes of the existing master bath. Designed by Marsha Topham, Senior Project Architect of CG&S Design-Build, the homeowner wished to incorporate a warm color range, with a strong red accent of natural stone and tile.
Born in the Dominican Republic, Rafael Alvarez is an accomplished architect, graphic designer and painter whose work can be found around the world. A visual arts graduate from the School of Arts Apec (EDA) and Architecture at the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Urena (UNPHU), he was an Artist in Residence, Art and Design Director and instructor for the Foundation Altos de Chavon - an affiliate of Parson’s School of Design in New York City.
