KIRCHHEIMTECK, GERMANY -- On April 20, 2004, Burkhardt GmbH of Bayreuth, Germany, announced that it took over the operations of the company Robert Schlatter GmbH & Co. in KirchheimTeck, Germany, a competitor in the manufacturing of machines for natural stoneworking. Burkhardt GmbH is an international stoneworking machinery manufacturer with a staff of around 250 people.

The Robert Schlatter GmbH & Co. has enjoyed a good reputation in the sector of natural stoneworking mainly because of their bridge saws, which they supplied to more than 400 regular customers.

Burkhardt GmbH guarantees -- in close cooperation with Robert Schlatter -- that the competent service will remain for all Schlatter machines. The takeover secures the investment of many content Schlatter customers and allows to Burkhardt to offer an even better and expanded service closer to each customer.

With the brand Schlatter, Burkhardt gained an attractive addition to its machine program. Its brands “Hensel Maschinen” and “CM Carl Meyer” are thus strengthened, reports the company.
