HOUSTON, TX -- Out of 1,500 innovative products, Silestone by Consentino recently garnered the coveted Platinum ADEX Award (Awards for Design Excellence) -- a very prestigious award program in the design industry -- for its Muro backsplash. The product was awarded within the hard surfaces category.

Muro is a new line of Silestone natural quartz tile backsplashes. The 1⁄4-inch prefabricated tiles with optional demi-bullnose edge are grouped into 16, and held together with mesh backing for easy handling and installation. Available in two sizes -- 4 x 4 inches with demi-bullnose edge or 3-inch brick-shape cut with a 90-degree edge -- and available in many colors, the Muro line offers limitless options, according to Consentino.

An anonymous panel of professionals -- representing a cross section of the design industry -- conducts all voting for the ADEX Awards. The judges are considered to be among the best in their respective areas of expertise, and each category potentially has three winners: platinum, gold or silver. Several categories are judged by points awarded for each entry.

“We are very honored to have received the ADEX Award for our product innovation of Silestone Muro Backsplash,” said Mike Heylmun, vice president of sales, Consentino USA. “With the largest manufacturing capacity in the natural quartz industry, and the most experienced network of dedicated distributors, Silestone has the ability to create and deliver new innovative products that will continue to revolutionize the surfacing industry.”
